The Woodlands H.S. Softball Team would like to welcome Bellaire, Brazoswood, Liberty, Ridge Point and Tomball Memorial to our tournament this weekend.  Hopefully the weather is going to cooperate and we are going to finish the tournament with these six great teams.  The softball field is located behind the school with the other athletics fields at 6101 Research Forest Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381.  Feel free to drive around and park by the field.  The gate to enter the complex is located next to the concession stand in left field.  Be sure to bring some extra cash so that you can enjoy one of the best concession stands around.

2018 TWHS Varsity Tournament Schedule REVISED (2-22)

We were able to reserve 2 turf fields over at the Scrapyard for Friday morning/afternoon. So, we will run those fields (Copper 3 and 4) concurrently starting at 10:00 and everyone will get 2 games tomorrow. The plan is then to come back to TWHS on Saturday and play those games as originally scheduled. If for whatever reason the field is unplayable, we will find another Saturday to come back and “finish” the tournament. Please know that we are going to do everything we can to get those games in this Saturday and not have to do that.

Players, coaches and trainers will get in free at the Scrapyard but spectators will have to pay $5 at the gate. There is no outside food or drink allowed. Pitchers are NOT allowed to wear metal spikes. Everyone else on the field is good, they just don’t want the pitchers wearing them on the rubber.

Be aware that there are two other high school tournaments that will be there at the same time. The complex is East of I-45. From the South, you’ll take the Robinson Rd. exit and turn right onto Robinson Rd./Woodlands Pkwy. Follow it until it dead ends at a stop sign. Turn right at the stop sign and then take your immediate left over the railroad tracks. Follow the road around until you see a Shell gas station on your left. 2018 TWHS Varsity Tournament Schedule REVISED (2-22)

Today’s (Thursday) games have been cancelled due to the weather and field conditions.  The plan is to resume play tomorrow and Saturday.  Check back for an updated schedule with match-ups and times. 

After two days of abbreviated games, the Highlanders emerge unscathed.  They beat Leander 4-0 playing 5 hours after their scheduled start time.  They came back first thing Friday morning to beat Burleson 6-2 and Brazoswood 8-1 before tying Alvin 0-0 after 6 innings.  The rules of the tournament stated that a coin flip would decide who would advance in the tournament bracket and Coach Borths was victorious.  That leaves TWHS, Ridge Point, Keller and Cedar Ridge as the only remaining “undefeated” teams in the tournament and they will face off against one another with TWHS taking on Ridge Point (advanced on a coin flip as well after a 0-0 tie of their own) and Keller taking on Cedar Ridge at 10:00 at Veterans Park.  The winners will play at 4:00 and the losers will play at 2:00 at Bryan H.S. as long as the weather holds out.  If you can’t make it up to Bryan, follow the team on GameChanger or “2 Dads and a Mike” on Twitter @twhssoftball.  It’s time for the 2018 team to Earn It!  Here we go!  Here we go!

2018 TWHS JV Tournament Schedule

The Woodlands H.S. Softball Team would like to welcome Deer Park, Klein Collins, Spring, Oak Ridge, Willis and Waller to our JV tournament this weekend.  We are utilizing two sites this year, TWHS and Oak Ridge H.S.  The softball field at TWHS is located behind the school with the other athletics fields at 6101 Research Forest Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381.  Parking will be limited on Friday while school is in session.  Fans, please park in the visitor spots at the front of the school when you turn in at Cats Cradle and walk along the tennis courts to the back of the building where you will see the field.  Another option once those spots fill up is to park in the grass that runs along the main parking lot in the front of the school by the tennis courts (the center area is reserved for buses).  Enter at Millennium Forest Dr. on the west end of the school and go around the bus ramp and at the cut-through pull straight into the grass as close to the cable wire as you can.  You can also parallel park along Millennium Forest Dr. and walk along the tennis courts to the back of the school where you will see the field.  Please do not park in the numbered spots in the back by the field as those are reserved for faculty and staff during the day.  They might be empty in the morning but we have faculty and staff that travel between campuses and they will fill up in the afternoon.  Friday evening and all day Saturday, feel free to park back by the field.  The entrance to that parking lot is at the east end of the school.

The address for Oak Ridge H.S. is 27330 Oak Ridge School Rd, Conroe, TX 77385 and the field is located behind the school as well.

We apologize for the parking inconvenience on Friday but there’s not anything that we can do about that.  Restrooms are located on site at the concession stand which will be open both days with a variety of meal and snack options. Admission for the tournament will be $5 per adult per day since we are using two locations.  We look forward to having everyone come out and support their girls to open up the season as the fields are ready to go.  Let’s play ball!

2018 TWHS JV Tournament Schedule

The Highlanders are set to play the winner of the Dobie/Burleson (played after us) game at 9:00 Friday morning at A&M Consolidated H.S.  They will stay at A&M Consolidated H.S. and play Game 2 at either 12:00 or 1:30 depending on how the first game goes.  After that, we will travel to Veterans Park (3101 Harvey Rd, College Station, TX 77845) to play at either 3:00 or 6:00.  It looks like they are going to try and keep the bracket in tact.

The Highlander Softball Program will be hosting a JV Tournament this weekend at TWHS and Oak Ridge.  Admission will be $5 per day for adults and students and children are free.  Let’s hope the weather hold out!  Here is a bracket of teams and locations:
