Our game versus Conroe on Tuesday, April 11th has been dubbed “Future’s Night” and is an opportunity for us to celebrate future Highlander stars who are currently playing softball at SMGSL and with their tournament teams and we hope to have representatives from the Scrapyard Dawgs on hand to represent the future of our sport.  We also want to show our support for the health and future of one of our own by wearing teal that night.  The girls are going to wear their teal shirts to warm up in and we would like everyone in the stands to get involved as well by adding some teal to their game night attire.

As you may know, one of our own has been braving a tough battle against Ovarian Cancer.  To honor Julie Luman, and to bring awareness for Ovarian Cancer Research, we had shirts made for each girl on the team. Please know that Julie designed the shirt and chose the logo. She said that she reminds her kids every day, “This is the day!  Today!  Spend it well.  Live it like what it really is….a gift straight to you from God.” It’s a great reminder to all of us.

Let’s cover our Highlanders in teal and let Julie know we support her and her family and that we are in this fight with her! These shirts as well as other styles are available including kids shirts, ladies cut t-shirts, and ¾ sleeve boat neck shirts. Please visit www.woodlandsbaseballacademy.com/teal-shirts.html. It is not too late to order.

If you would like to make a donation directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, please visit www.ocrfa.org and click DONATE.  Thank you for supporting Julie and our efforts to bring awareness to Ovarian Cancer.
