We lost a tough one today in some pretty miserable conditions. Once again we out hit our opponent but couldn’t find a way to score more runs than them. The girls rallied and kept their spirits up which was extremely encouraging.
Tomorrow we are playing in Waller again at The Rac on Field 3. We will play Dobie at 8:00. When we win that game, we’ll play Denison on the same field at 9:30. After winning that game, we’ll have one game off and then play our third game at 12:30 on Field 1. If we happen to lose a game in there, this all changes. Refer to the link for updates. You might have to cross-reference the game number with the “Game Times” tab. He’s working on updating the brackets now.
I’m confident that these girls will Find A Way to get a victory! If you’re coming out tomorrow, dress warm and you might want to bring a lawn chair! Find A Way to win the Consolation Bracket! Here we go! Here we go!

Depending on the weather, the bracket is subject to change. But here’s what we’re starting with. Find A Way!
Ever dream of hitting a home run under the lights with the crowd going wild? Want to practice hitting the long ball for Slugfest? Want to release some stress from studying? Want to challenge your friends? Want to help local kids in the process? Come out to the Holiday Home Run Derby on Wednesday, December 4th from 4-8pm at Highlander Field behind the high school benefiting the CASA Christmas Toy Drive sponsored by TWHS Softball. The entry fee is $10 for each turn in Round 1. You may purchase unlimited turns until 7:00 and you can come and go until then. The top 5 contestants will advance to Round 2. Registration and warm-up will start at 3:45 or you can pre-register with Coach Miller in Portable 9 or a member of the softball team. It’s only a 200 ft. fence so, come out and hit some homers for a good cause. See you there!
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Highlander Softball on Saturday night at our annual Fall Fundraiser! We changed it up this year with Bingo being the evening’s entertainment to go along with good company, good food, cold drinks and silent auction. The TWHS Fastpitch Booster Club Board of Directors and army of parent volunteers did an AMAZING job of putting this event together. We look forward to continuing the tradition and making it even bigger next year, so mark your calendars now! First Saturday of November at the Knights of Columbus on 1488.
Congratulations to Doug Nelson! He’s the winner of the $500 gift card after his ticket was drawn Saturday night at the Fall Fundraiser.
Early voting for the bond has begun. The polling location here in The Woodlands is at the South County Community Center, 2235 Lake Robbins Drive The Woodlands 77380. From now until next Wednesday (closed Sunday) the polls are open from 8:00-5:00 and then from 7:00-7:00 next Thursday and Friday. Detailed information about the bond can be found at http://www.conroeisd.net/bond/. One of the interesting elements of the bond is that if both Propositions A (Campus Renovation, Safety and District Support needs) and B (Turf Fields) pass, the tax rate will not increase. However, if Proposition A fails, taxes will probably increase because everything in that package will still need to happen and be funded. It sounds backwards, but those are the numbers. Make sure to share that information with friends and neighbors so that they can make informed decisions.
Congratulations to Haley Mountain and her family on her recent commitment to the University of Texas at Arlington! When she graduates from The Woodlands HS in a couple of years, Haley will continue playing softball for the Mavericks thanks to her hard work, dedication and diligence! Lady Highlanders represent the best of our community
Through your investment TWHS Softball Booster Club helps these dedicated athletes succeed. By joining us, you help us improve and maintain our facilities, which are widely hailed as the best in Texas. Your donations also fund partial college scholarships for each graduating senior, additional uniforms and outer wear for each player & softball specific training equipment. Boosters also help fund team travel for tournaments located out of district, partially support our year-end banquet and finally provide each Lady Highlander with a yearbook memorializing both individual and team accomplishments for the season.
Lady Highlanders proudly represent our community with spirit, determination and pride. They compete nationally for coveted college scholarships and couldn’t do this without your generous support. We welcome you to make a real difference in the lives of these incredible women.
