SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: The Woodlands shuts out Oak Ridge in season opener
Each year we have a “Pink Out” game with College Park to help raise awareness and funding for breast cancer (and other cancers) research. As part of that, the girls wear special “jerseys” (t-shirts), for the game. College Park is hosting the game this year and designed the shirts. Attached is the link to order. Each player will need to order a shirt as that’s what we’ll wear for the game. Their name and number will be printed on the back in white. Family and friends can order additional shirts as well. Feel free to put your daughter’s name and number on yours as well. If you want a blank shirt, you might need to do a separate order. You’ll just have to play with it. The website closes THIS FRIDAY, Feb. 1st. So, make sure that you order by then!
With the impending cold weather, the decision was made to move the games up to Monday and field availability meant that the games also moved to TWHS. The JV will start things off at 4:30 and play for a little over an hour. The Varsity will begin as soon as the umpires are ready after that. Probably as soon as 5:45. We are bound by a 3 hour clock from the umpires. We’re going to try and work with that as much as we can, but technically we only have the umpires for 3 total hours for both games.
We have two vendors that will be providing items, Dugout Sports and AJ Embroidery. The ordering instructions are below. For AJ Embroidery, check “Local Pick Up” during checkout to avoid shipping charges.

There is still some unfinished business for them to take care of this year as Highlanders before they embark on their next journey. Whatever It Takes!

Amanda Curran, Kayla Falterman, Emiley Kennedy, Alayis Seneca and Skylar Sirdashney are the latest Highlanders to be named to the Texas Sports Writers’ Association All-State Team. These players were selected for their accomplishments at their positions from out of the thousands of 6A softball players from all over the state. This is quite an accomplishment for these young ladies and demonstrates that good things happen when you Earn It every day!
